Dec. 17, 2013 (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) –On Sunday December 15, Mainstreet at Midtown wrapped up it’s new holiday event, The COOL YULE, CHRISTMAS TREE   CONTEST. Twelve local non-profit organizations vied for the title of best-dressed Yule tree chosen by a combination of public vote and panel of judges and awarded this past Sunday night during the Palm Beach Community Church’s Light Up The Night Christmas event held in Midtown.

“Midtown was looking for a creative way to celebrate the holiday season and with close to 1000 votes in the tree ballot boxes, Cool Yule was a very successful event for us.  The community involvement was spectacular including non-profit organizations from West Palm Beach such as Quantum House through to Jupiter including the River Center and Friends of The Loxahatchee River District” says Marketing Manager, Belle Forino.

The winners were the Jupiter run group, the Fun Runners who decorated their tree with running shoes, race bibs and other assorted running items not typically thought of as Christmas tree ornaments.

“The Fun Runners train runners at all levels for free, we saw this as an opportunity to help a local charity, Bella’s Angels who help children born with congenital defects” Coach Dr. Hamed Kian, DC.

Bella's Angels a 501c3 organization offers assistance and support to families of children who have been diagnosed with CHARGE Syndrome or a life-long physical disability.  “We currently have two local children who will be having major surgery this January in Boston and Tampa.  These funds will assist their families with their necessary travel expenses. We are so grateful for this donation” said Executive Director, Deborah Jaffe.

The twelve participating non-profits included:The Lighthouse ArtCenter, Friends Of   Jupiter Beach, Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival, The Borland Center for Performing Arts, Palm Beach Community Church, Loggerhead Marine Life Center, River Center – Loxahatchee River District, Friends of the MacArthur Beach State Park, JFK Medical, Big Dog Ranch, Quantum House, and Speak Up For Kids – Palm Beach County.
